BOM in Fusion 360, i.e., a list of elements used in the project!
For many years, we have been designing, among others, in the Fusion 360 software. We perfectly know how useful for many people are ready-made 3D models of aluminium profiles and other products, which you can buy in our store V-SLOT.pl Preparation of the project is particularly important when we plan to implement it.
Nevertheless, based on our own experience, we know that the transition process from a project to purchasing from a supplier is often the next few hours of browsing the store's website or catalogue.
That is why we decided to refine the product models available on our website so as to facilitate your shopping or quickly get a project quote from us!
BOM (Bill of Materials) – complete list of used materials in the model
Based on the information which we are receiving from you, it turns out that few people know about the possibility of creating a BOM (bill of materials) in the Fusion 360 software. A BOM is a list that may contain all the elements that have been used in a 3D model prepared e.g., in Fusion 360 software.
Fusion 360 software gives us this option after installing the add-on plugin.
The add-on which allows you to create a BOM in Fusion can be downloaded from: https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/
After downloading and installing this plug in, restart FUSION 360 and expand the "CREATE" list at the end you will find the "CREATE BOM" option.
After clicking, we have to save the file in a folder of our choice and then open it in a software that allows opening CSV files (OpenOffice Calc or MS excel).
After opening the previously saved file, we will see tables with a list of all elements used in our project along with dimensions, quantities and soon also with the PRODUCT CODE, which will allow you to quickly find a given product in our V-SLOT POLSKA store!
In order to make the PRODUCT CODE visible to you, we have to, however, modify all the files which you can download from our website so that after generating the BOM, it will appear in the Description field.
Nevertheless, as of today, i.e., on November 13, 2019, we still need to do this. By now you can only download 3D models on our website and after installing the add-on plugin, create your own bill of materials. After that of course you can send the bill to our e-mail address shop@v-slot.pl. We will send you back individual quote!
