Once again, we are trilling to present you a project which was created entirely of OpenBuilds V-SLOT system components and V-SLOT Poland elements. Many people asked us to prepare the saw guide project that will facilitate the cutting of wood and other materials.
In this article, we will describe how a circular saw guide is built.
To build saw guide, you will need few components that can be found in the V-SLOT.PL store. The complete list of components is written below. In addition to the components that you will find on the list below, you will need an Allen key and an 8 flat wrench. The making time is about an hour and even a beginner DIYer should not have problems with doing this on his own.
To complete the full set of needed components easier we have prepared a special "KIT", which includes all the necessary accessories to build this construction. The only thing that you should choose to suit your needs are aluminium profiles, which you can buy in various lengths from 15cm to 300cm!
The structure is a simple system of V-SLOT profiles and accessories which together creates a stable and rigid linear guide. On the trolley that moves along the profiles, you can mount an aluminium plate to which you can attach various tools - for example, a circular saw.
However, you need to remember, when installing cutting, rotating, drilling and other devices must have been ensuring a stable mounting of the tool and have to take all precautions during work.
TThis time we want to present you an updated version of the wood planner.
It is an improved version of its predecessor, which after the use of new components has gained even more rigidity.
In addition, we have also prepared a video for you, where you will learn step by step how to assemble such a device on your own.
The planner is entirely made of V-SLOT aluminium profiles and accessories available in our store, thanks to which the structure is stable, easy to build, and you can easily adjust it to your needs.

HOW TO BUILD A CNC MACHINE (for a hobbyist) - hints and practical advices
In the beginning, CNC milling machine is a tool that offers many various possibilities of milling. With CNC machine, we can work with various materials such as foam, polystyrene, plastics, wood, aluminium or even steel. Polish group of DIY enthusiasts is still growing (which truly makes us very happy) and as a result, we decided to create a series of guides, where we will describe the process of building a simple 3-axis CNC milling machine. Machine, which will be ideal start to your adventure with CNC.
In our guides, we will focus on building a CNC machine that uses OpenBuilds V-SLOT system components - We will use the C-BEAM milling project. Our construction will consist of V-SLOT 2060 and C-BEAM aluminium profiles, plates, and V-SLOT rollers compatible with V-profiles.
Changes in Fusion 360: Problem with generating paths for CNC
At the beginning of October 2020, in Fusion 360 software have been introduced a few changes. The program, which is used by many people to model and generate files for 3D printers, CNC milling machines and plotters, has been offering fewer functions for several days.
The changes mainly affect users of the free versions - and as we know this is a large group.
We will not write in this article about all the changes which have occurred in the Fusion 360 program, because several valuable articles or videos have already been created.

Users who have been used the free version of Fusion 360 so far were able to tear their hair out earlier this month.

The table built on the basis of a 40x40 mm aluminium profile is a stable structure that will successfully replace the table for light and medium loads. The table can be equipped with supporting legs or wheels.
In this case, self-tapping screws were used to twist the individual elements. An alternative method may be the use of corners and connecting plates, but worth to know, that described method allows to minimize the construction cost while maintaining high stiffness.
