Description
V-MINION RAT RIG
The V-Minion 3D printer is a small structure created by our partner RatRig.
A kit for self-assembly.
CURRENTLY, DUE TO VERY HIGH INTEREST IN THE CONSTRUCTION, THE DELIVERY TIME MAY EXCEED UP TO 20 WORKING DAYS.
OUR COMPANY IS ALREADY WORKING ON ALTERNATIVE COMPONENTS THAT ENABLE FASTER IMPLEMENTATION.
In our V-SLOT store you can purchase a V-Minion 3D printer in 3 different options:
- V-Minion: A set of mechanical parts
- V-Minion: Essentials Set
- V-Minion: Full set
Rat Rig V-Minion 3D Printer
V-Minion is a high-quality DIY kit (for self-assembly) of a small Cartesian 3D printer. The printer is characterized by high stiffness and working speed.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN V-MINION KITs?
1. V-MINION MECHANICAL PARTS KIT
This package only includes the parts to build the frame:
- Aluminum profiles
- Connectors
- Bolts
- Pads
- Linear guides and carriages
To this you need to add electronics (including motors, controller, wires, limit switches etc.) and all printed elements, purchased additionally.
2. V-MINION ESSENTIALS KIT
The package includes a mechanical kit and all the electronics needed to build a printer. You will have to print the electronics housing and add the printed parts to the structure yourself.
Below you will find a list of electronic components included in the set:
- Nema 17 engines
- Extruder (Bondtech LGX lite)
- Phaetus Dragonfly BO Hotend
- Keenovo heater with thermal protection
- 5V M8 probe
- BTT SKR 2.0 driver
- Fans (4010 and 5015)
3. V-MINION printer FULL SET
In this kit you will find all the items found in the Essentials + Printed Items bundle. By purchasing this set, you will assemble a complete printer! The only element that must be purchased on your own is the power cord and the SD card for the Raspberry Pi.

V-MINION PRINTER ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The creators of the V-MINION design have come to the conclusion that the most popular FDM prints are small. A smaller working area makes the structure more compact, which makes it also stiffer and therefore it can be even faster.
V-MINION 3D PRINTER WITH 3060 PROFILES
A 30x60 profile was used for the construction of the frame, which makes the structure very durable and rigid. In addition, the use of 3060 profiles allows for faster printing, reducing vibration, which leads to a better print appearance.
MGN LINEAR GUIDES
The V-Mnion uses carriages and linear rails (MGN15H and MGN12C) on each of the 3 axes. The guides ensure smooth and quiet movement of the axis.
MODULAR EVA TROLLEY
The V-Minion printer from RatRig is equipped with an EVA trolley system as an extruder platform and a hotend trolley.
Thanks to this, you can use a huge list of extruders and hotend combinations! The EVA design is also open to updates, so you will be able to implement new hotends and extruders in your printer in the future.
ELECTRONICS HOUSING
A housing has been designed for the printer, which will accommodate the power supply, RPI and the motherboard. The housing is compatible with the 40mm fan and provides adequate component cooling. The design is compatible with BTT SKR2, BTT SKR Mini, BTT Octupus motherboards.
TABLE
The V-MINION has a custom-made 5mm thick aluminum plate that has been specially designed for this printer. The direct cooperation of the creators of the structure together with Keenovo resulted in the design and manufacture of a hob with very good parameters.
SPOOL HOLDER
As a complement to the design, a special holder for the spool of filament has been designed.
RatOS SOFTWARE
RatOs was developed by and in collaboration with Mikkel Schmidt specifically for printers made by RatRig. The software ensures stable operation and is easy to use.

INSTRUCTION
As of today, in order to build a printer on your own, the manufacturer provides an online manual that will guide you step by step through each stage of construction. The manual is available in English and supported by many illustrations that will allow the construction even for a person who does not know the language.
As V-SLOT Polska, we have been cooperating with RatRig for several years - soon we will be able to provide you with the manual also in Polish.
We want to say thank!
As an Open-Source project, the V-Core 3 project is the result of long-term brainstorming, testing and collaboration between many active members of the international 3D printer community who willingly shared their knowledge and experience with our design team. The machine inevitably draws inspiration from the many existing design elements that have been developed, shared, tested, modified and iterated throughout the community. The nature of the open-source movement makes it often difficult to trace where each idea was originally generated, making it difficult to build an exhaustive than you list. Nevertheless, below we listed a few names and projects which we would like to highlight as direct or indirect input / inspiration to the V-Core 3 platform.
